 | what I am doing, or trying to! TwoLang_Model_07012011
Hallo you other members.
I have written the following to get my dialogue with others who are interested, off the ground
Working in two languages or translating from English to German.
English is my mother tongue and I write in English. Since I live in Germany I wished to publish my writings here. I dislike text written by one and translated by another, because of the style differences. Because of this, I have thus had to learn how to build a model to translate my texts.
It took a long time, until I was prepared to accept the challenge. Gathering the experience of learning by example and then by the use of rules, was difficult to adapt to. Both this experience and the model, I intend to publish as eBooks. I write the object in the plural since I intend to publish two versions.
The first version will be published within the next month. It is based on understanding and validating sentence structures, segmenting those into phrases and then translateing.
It is written for those learning how to use English and German. It tries to understand or sometimes avoid langugae style incongruities.
The second version will go down to the word level. It will use use a dictionary to translate, which I will have built.
The experiences were derived from finding my way around the Internet, and learning to use, generally inadequate, material.
Regards, patforkin.
